So, why is the new coin $50? After TPTB let the dollar collapse will this be the rate of the new "gold standard"?

If TPTB do a wholesale confiscation like back in the 1930's, it won't matter whar denomination is written on any gold or silver coins. Chances are, the fabled "Mark of the Beast" would be the only allowable form of payment for the masses.

Thats right, 1 ounce of gold equals 50 dollars. Each new dollar is worth 100 old dollars.

1 ounce of silver equals 1 dollar. In the equivalent, each new silver dollar is equal to 100 old dollars.

About 1 year of hyperinflation should get us to these exchange levels. If they drag it out for about 3 years, each new dollar will be worth 1000 old dollars.
